We are about to put a pool in before we build and therefore the water will be sitting there for about 12 months while the house is being built. The pool guy said they will need to throw it lots of chlorine and then they'll connect it up and clean it when we are ready to move into the house. If the water already has chlorine and we then get the enviroswim system running, is this ok as I dont think they will drain the water and start again. Thanks

Hi Natalie,
There is no problem using chlorine until you install the Enviroswim system. The information you have supplied does not make it clear as to what stage the pool will be left for twelve months. I would be very concerned if the pool has the finished surface on and is to be left without the pump, filter and Enviroswim connected and working. I assume the builder is referring to leaving the shell for 12 month prior to putting the final finish on when the house is built.

ES3 rocks I installed an ES1 about 5yrs ago after being sick of the pool going green after hot weather. It was a great success. In 2009 at a new house we decided to put in a new pool. The builder recommended an in-floor cleaning system for our leafy location and the "latest" ozone sanitizer.

The in floor system has been great but ozone was a disater and over 9 moths it drove me nut and cost a fortune in chemicals. After my wife constantly telling me "I told you to go with another Ionizer" I relented and brought an ES3.

Since installing it and flicking the switch its been a outstanding success with nothing more the hardness adjustments (concrete pool).

I won't be changing again!

Enviroswim Pool Perth Hi,
We have had the ES-3 system for 3 years now and have been very pleased with its performance. We love that we no longer need chlorine or salt in the pool and it has stayed crystal clear and easy to manage even through our West Australian heatwaves.
Miriam, Perth.

Hi,

I am installing an ES 3 system for my estened pool (150.000 L) is there any special start up procedure to get the pool in balance - the pool uses a QuartzOn surface ?

Hi Tom, The system comes with a comprehensive installation manual that covers the set up and water balance.
If you don't have the manual please email info@enviroswim .com and we can send you a copy. Enviroswim works with all types of pool surfaces. In regards to maintaining the Quartzon surface I recommend you research the product on the internet or contact the manufacturer.

ES 3 System Just on a year ago (Nov. 2010)we built our own pool and following extensive research installed an enviroswim ES3 system. This has been the best feature of our pool. The water is beautiful and fresh, feels great after a swim, the comments from our friends and family have been very positive, especially if they have swum in chlorine pools: almost disbelief that it can be this good! A very healthy option.

I am a builder and in the course of this year have built three pools in different houses, each one has used an enviroswim system. I even invited some clients to try our pool and their decision was made very quickly.

I love the low maintanence and simplicity of looking after our pool. The support and advice from Gary has been informative and very helpful.
I am only too pleased to recommend the ES3 to others who are in the process of putting in their own pools.

A great Australian product, well done Gary!

Enviroswim unit In October 2003 I had the ES1 unit installed at our pool. It followed a now humourus encounter with Phil at the Kawana home show just previous where I really wanted an argument over the statements of achievment presented. I had just come out of a lost war with black spot in my pool and a chemical content in our water requiring I dump HALF the contents to bring it back to a safe level. The black spot grew fat and I got ugly. His statement it would eradicate it in 3 months was treated with scorn and he was wrong anyway it killed it in less than 6 weeks!!! I threw ALL the chemicals away and I have been so enthusiastic about the system for the past 8 years that today I ordered the ES3 unit. I cannot say enough about the system. I have left the old system to run for almost 8 months under a pool blanket, came home to a lot of dust and material in the pool down the edges of the blanket. I threw in 4 litres of Chlorine and in 2 days it was crystal clear.I have full confidence in the system.

Compatible with cartridge filtration system? - Continue Quote :
Know someone in Phoenix, Arizona, who was told he must switch his cartridge filter to a sand filter for your system to work properly. However, I saw on your website that the ES3 works with either type of filtration system. Will the ES3 work just as well with a cartridge filter as a sand one (location Phoenix, Arizona)?

Most cartridge filters don't have a backwash facility meaning the pool water never gets diluted to maintain water quality. In areas where the municipal supply water meets EPA drinking water standards the evaporation rate to dissolved solid ratio is not an issue as the top up water is not introducing more dissolved solids. Hi Rich, The Enviroswim system is compatible with all types of filters. I believe the reason for the sand filter recommendation was to encourage the use of backwashing and water recycling due to the poor water quality in parts of Phoenix.
The problem is that in some areas in the Phoenix valley the municipal supply water used to top up pool evaporation loss is high in dissolved solids like calcium. When water evaporates from the pool the dissolved solids don't evaporate so the dissolved solids gradually build up in the pool water like a thickening soup until the water becomes uncomfortable to swim in and pool management becomes difficult.
